DESCRIPTION:Breaking News!! Bruce & Julie of Patchouli just called and are forced to cancel their performance this Sunday for our 120th Anniversary picnic. The performance may be rescheduled at a later date. We are not however interested in canceling a party. So we will be here on Sunday for a picnic\, pie & ice cream\, and maybe some music if we can find a performer or two. \n\nJoin us on the north lawn for a picnic\, pie and ice cream\, & a return performance by Bruce & Julie of Patchouli as we celebrate the 120th Anniversary of the formation of The Amherst Opera House Company.  AOH Co was formed on June 10\, 1902. \nPicnic starts at 1:00 PM.  Bring enough to feed your group and if you are so inclined\, bring something to share.  Water\, Beer\, & Wine will be available to purchase. \nPie and Ice Cream Social starts at 2:00 PM when homemade pie\, Ice Cream will be available for sale.  Be sure to be there on time to get your chance at home made pies . \nPatchouli performs at 2:30 PM.  Bruce & Julie have performed at the Amherst Opera House since it was once again opened to the public in 2018.  No need to purchase tickets.  The performance is provided FREE by the Amherst Opera House Co. Guild and other local sponsors.  Donations are appreciated.

DESCRIPTION:The Amherst Opera House Co. Guild is pleased to present a FREE event on Thursday\, August 11th\, 2022.   Come and enjoy the performance in our 120 year old historic Amherst Opera House.  The Opera House was designed and built in 1902\, opened on January 3\, 1903 and was the premier gathering place for Amherst and surrounding area residents.  The building sat vacant for most of the last 50 years.  The AOHCG 501(c)3 has been busy working to bring it back to it’s original use.  It is a unique musical venue and offers you the opportunity to experience  “Entertainments” as they were presented in a less hectic time\, circa 1930’s. \nDaniel and Claire make up the duo\, “the foxfire affair.” These multi-instrumentalists entertain with a guitar\, mandolin\, cajon\, and other instruments to complement their varied musical selections. While trading off lead vocals and harmonies\, they’ll span several centuries of music playing everything from Irish Traditionals to sea shanties\, American folk to rock\, and a touch of original material. Not only are they married to one another but also to their craft. They love performing and sharing music with others. \nDoors open at 5:00PM  Show starts at 6:00 PM \n \n \n \nAuthentic Puerto Rican and Caribbean food favorites available at 5:00PM on our north lawn by Boriken Mart. \n \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS ARE FREE! \nThanks to a donor attendance at this performance is now free.  A refund will be generated for those who have purchased tickets.  For 30+ years Tim Atwood played for music’s elite on the most venerable stage in country music history–The Grand Ole Opry. During that time Tim backed legends and legends-in-the-making including Garth Brooks\, Taylor Swift\, Carrie Underwood\, Darius Rucker\, Vince Gill\, Merle Haggard\, Willie Nelson\, Jim Ed Brown\, Jeannie Seely and Little Jimmy Dickens. Tim’s versatility on keys also allowed him the opportunity to play for those outside of the country box\, performing with Barry Gibb\, Keb Mo\, Lisa Marie Presley and Jewel. Beyond the stage Tim continues to be a sought after studio musician in Nashville playing on recordings for some of those very artists with whom he shared the spotlight’s fringe–artists who include Dolly Parton\, Ray Price\, George Jones and Charley Pride. All of the “Opry cool kids” knew Tim could play a piano like there was no tomorrow; and they knew he was a funny guy who could make a story come to life\, but in the middle of all the commotion of the stage\, it became apparent that Tim could sing…and not simply sing\, but sing with heart\, soul and emotion. The man is GOOD! Today Tim sits in the middle of the spotlight delivering a high energy\, fun-filled romp down memory lane in which Tim shares his experiences as an artist\, studio musician and sideman. The audience can expect piano pounding thrills as Tim performs songs from piano greats Mickey Gilley\, Billy Joel\, Jerry Lee Lewis\, Elton John\, Ronnie Milsap and Charlie Rich…along with bouts of laughter as he dishes out backstage jokes and stories as only an insider can. Tim also discloses the tender moments he experienced on stage like the love he had for country comedienne Minnie Pearl\, and his thoughts about playing keys for the biggest farewell party since Hank Williams–the funeral of George Jones. With a musical arsenal that includes hundreds of selections\, Tim can fire off a country song with ease\, pull the trigger on a rock and roll favorite\, reload with some back water blues and win the day with a trip to the A-men corner. Comedy songs are some of his favorites though\, so expect to hear a few of those too\, along with a few Tim Atwood originals to keep the show fresh. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 4th\, 2023 we need help getting ready for the 2023 season of gatherings and events.  From 10AM to 12 Noon and again from 1 PM to 3 PM we will be working.  Peggy’s venison chili will be served at noon\, fixins’ and water will be provided.  Come for whatever time you are available.  30 minutes to 2 hours to 4 hours\, or until we run out of work to do\, all help is needed and appreciated.  Help us get ready for our upcoming 2023 season of gatherings and events.  We will be cleaning up with shop vacs\, sweeping\, washing windows\, and moving things from upstairs to downstairs and maybe downstairs to upstairs.  Dress warm as the furnaces have not been turned on yet.  It will be cold until we start moving things.
